I don’t do monthly TBR’s. Mainly because I know I won’t read that many books in a month, so instead, I do yearly TBR’s. I read 31 of the books on my TBR before July, so I am going to tell you the books I plan on reading for the second half of the year. Since it is September, I actually have read some of these books, but I will discuss my thoughts on them when I do my yearly wrap-up. Let’s get into the books I plan on reading in the second half of the year.
The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. I think everyone knows about this series by now, but if you don’t, this series is about Percy Jackson, who learns that he is the son of one of the Big Three Greek Gods and the quests he undertakes.
I also want to read The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan. I don’t know anything about this series except you have to read it AFTER you read Percy Jackson. I just know that I want to read all of Rick Riordan’s books, but I also need to remember that I am not a very fast reader and probably won’t get through them by the end of the year, so im limiting it to those two series for now.
The Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. The first book in the series is called Wicked Lovely and it is a faerie/fae romance novel which revolves round the Summer King trying to find his Summer Queen. The Summer King has been cursed and cannot reach his full potential as king until he finds his queen. However, the catch is, if the girl he chooses is not the right one, she must become the Winter Girl and feel the cold constantly until he chooses another.
Valley of Thorns, The Tenth City, Into The Mists and Stargazer (Land of Elyon 2,3, 0.5 and 4) by Patrick Carman. This is a series I read when I was younger, but at that time there were only 3 books, so I am doing a reread just so I can read Into the Mists and Stargazer. The first book (the Dark Hills Divide), which I have already read, is about a 12 year old girl named Alexa Daley who lives in a world where all cities and connecting roads are surrounded by walls. Upon the death of her dear friend, Alexa learns of a way out of the walls and thus an adventure to save the cities from a terrible evil ensues. Plus, talking animals.
Deltora Quest series 3 Bind-up by Emily Rodda. The end of my DQ nostalgia. I think we all know abput Deltora Quest, but if you don’t know, it’s about a boy named Lief who is sent out to find the stones to rebuild the Belt of Deltora, a magical belt designed to protect the Land of Deltora from the Shadowlord.
Vicious and Vengeful by VE Shwab (I am getting both very soon). I don’t know anything about these books, but I did read the first chapter of Vicious and really enjoyed it, so Im quite excited to read it when it finally arrived.
Otherworld by Jason Segal. Again, this is a book I know nothing about, but I did read a chapter and enjoyed what I read, so I’m hoping it will be good.
And lastly, Escape From Wolfhaven Castle by Kate Forsyth. I met the author of this book at Supanova earlier this year and she was very nice. The books reminded me a lot of Deltora Quest and the Land of Elyon, so I can’t wait to give this one a try. It is also signed by the author, which is great.
So, those are the books I’m hoping to read by the end of 2018. So far, I have read 4 of them, which is actually pretty bad considering the 31 books I read in the first 6 months.
