Tag Tuesday: Anything But Books Tag

Hello everyone. I have returned 👋. I apologise for not being active lately, life has been a really big mess the last couple of months, but I really want to start getting back on track. So, today I’m doing the anything but books tag. I found this tag on Merphy Napier’s channel and I thought it was really interesting. It’s also a really good opportunity for me to give you a little insight into who I am as a person and not just as a book reader. So let’s get started:

1. Name a cartoon that you love.

I’m hoping this includes anime because I absolutely love Death Note. I watched the complete anime and I’m now reading the manga, and then I’ll most likely watch the anime again. It’s just a really great anime that deals with the human psyche. I also really enjoyed Deadman Wonderland, Accel World, Another, Sword Art Online (season 1) and Chaos;Head.

2. What’s your favourite song right now?

I’m a pretty big fan of Motionless In White and I Prevail, and both bands just released some new songs, so I’m listening to them quite a lot. But I’d have to say my favourite is Bow Down by I Prevail. It’s heavy and has a really good message.

3. What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?

I play Dungeons and Dragons 3 times a fortnight. My fiancé is a DM for one game and I have a different DM for the other 2 games. I currently have 3 characters and all of them are some form of elf. I love playing an elf because they get all their HP and spell slots back after 4 hours rest instead of 8. I know a lot of you have no idea what I’m talking about, but D&D is something I’m really passionate about. So much so, that I have 10 sets of dice. I love my dice sets.

4. What is something your followers would be surprised by?

Probably my taste in music. As I’ve mentioned, my favourite bands are Motionless In White and I Prevail. There are more than that, obviously. One I recently found was Palisades. I’m always looking for new, heavier music, but it’s really hard because I’m very specific in what I like. I’m a Hufflepuff that loves rock/metal.

5. What is your favourite, unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?

Social psychology. I love reading about social experiments such as The Stanford Prison Experiment, The Milgrim Experiment, The Bootcamp, Blue Eyes Brown Eyes and many more like that. Things that motivate the human psyche on a purely social level are something I really enjoy.

6. What is something unusual you know how to do?

I do my own hair, by feel. I never use a mirror or any other viewing device, it’s purely by feel. I literally had to learn to do this because my mum was never good at doing hair since her hair has always been short, and also because I was always too small to see my reflection in our bathroom mirror.

7. Name something you’ve made in the last year and show us if you can?

I am currently in the middle of making my wedding bouquet. I’m making my roses out of ribbon because I wanted it to be something I could keep and also something a little bit unique. I don’t really like flowers all that much and black roses don’t exactly exist, so that’s another reason I decided to do this. Bear in mind that it is not completely finished.

8. What is your most recent personal project?

See above 🤪

9. Tell us something you think about often.

This is going to sound very macabre, but I think about death a lot and about why we as humans exist. I question our purpose and a whole bunch of other stuff that I probably shouldn’t be thinking about.

10. Give us something that is your favourite.

My family, especially my mum. I spend quite a lot of time with my mum, even if we are just sitting around doing nothing. I’m getting as much time in with her as I can. My advice to anyone is to spend as much time as they can with the people they care about because one day those people aren’t going to be there.

Well, that is all for this tag. I hope you enjoyed getting to know me. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment.

Thank you for reading. Bye 👋.
