Tag Tuesday: Book Adaption Tag

Hey everyone. It’s Tuesday and we all know what that means. It’s time for me to do a tag and today it’s the Book Adaptation Tag. I found this tag over on The Booknut Blog. I go to their archives a lot to find tags to do and they have some really great stuff there.

So, let’s get started with this tag.

1. What is the last book adaptation movie you saw?
Fallen and I didn’t like it. Our MC was made to look a little more “easy” than she actually was and the love interests just sort of cake out of nowhere. The relationships were more developed/explained much better in the books.

2. What book movie are you most excited for?
The Night Circus. It’s apparently happening and I’m so excited!

3. Which upcoming book movie will you definitely NOT see?
I don’t know of any coming out at this point in time.

4. Which book movie would you NEVER watch again?
The Maze Runner series. I hated the movies so much.

5. Is there a movie you saw that made you want to read the book, if you hadn’t yet?
House With A Clock In Its Walls. The movie was fantastic and I’m eagerly waiting to get the book in my hands.

6. Conversely, is there a movie that made you never want to read the book?
City of Bones. I hated the movie and it just made me not want to pick up the book.

7. Name an adaptation that has almost nothing to do with the book it’s supposedly based on.
Scorch Trials by James Dashner. It took out every plot point in the book and made it into something completely different.

8. Have you ever left the theater during a movie adaptation because it was so bad?

9. Do you prefer to watch the movie first or read the book first?
Really depends on the movie.

10. How do you feel about movie that age characters up? (ex. characters that are in middle-school, but in the movies they’re all 18)
Depends on the movie, sometimes it works. I think it worked in the Percy Jackson series, but it wouldn’t have worked in Harry Potter.

11. Do you get angry when the actors don’t look like you thought the characters looked?
Sometimes. If they made a COBAB movie, I’d be very mad if Zelie, Amarillo and all the other characters were white.

12. Is there a movie you liked better than its book?

13. Name a book that you would love to see as a movie.

Children of Blood And Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

That’s it for this week’s tag. I hope you enjoyed.

Thank you for reading. Bye 👋.
