May Wrap-Up and June TBR

The first book I completed in May was Death Note Volume 3.

As usual, I gave it 5/5 stars. I felt like a lot happened in this one and we got to see the conflict between Kira and L take a new turn. Also, MISA AMANE made her debut. I absolutely love Misa Amane in the anime/movies and I really hope I like her just as much in the manga.

The next book I read was To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

I gave this book 4/5 stars. I thought it was such a cute read and I loved getting to see the relationship build between Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky. I did feel like he was quite rude to her and I didn’t like him for most of the book, but as it went on, I grew to like him more. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I didn’t think the final conflict got resolved and things started to happen way too fast for my liking at the end. It also sort of weirded me out that Lara Jean calls her father “daddy”. It made her seem way too childish. Also, I didn’t like Margot all that much. I felt like she was a bit hypocritical at some points in the story. Everything else was great and im excited to continue on with PS, I Still Love You.

Next I read Talon by Julie Kagawa I gave it 5/5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. I liked how easy it was to get through since it read like a contemporary novel with fantasy elements. It was like Romeo + Juliet, but with dragons vs St George instead of Montague vs Capulet (correct me if wrong, haven’t read R+J in a while). I can’t wait to get to the next book. Also, this was the first book I got from the library. I finally got a library card and the library has almost all of the books from my Top 10 Books I Want To Read in 2019 list, so I won’t have to buy them and use up valuable space in my tiny house.

I decided after all that I was going to read Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody before reading King of Fools.

I’m hoping to finish AoS early in the month so I can read my June TBR picks.

Sadly, I didn’t manage to get through my audiobook. I only really listen to it while I’m driving and I didn’t have a car through most of the month, so, I’ll have to try again next month. I was enjoying what I was listening to and got through 29% of it before giving up. It’s not a DNF, just a temporary put down.

Thank you for reading. Let me know what you thought of any of these books in the comments. Bye 👋

Also i hope you will enjoy Scythe, another book i really love!

    1. Yea. I am so excited about continuing. I read a bit of the first page and I’m intrigued. Have you finished the series?
I hope I enjoy Scythe too. I’m happy it’s quite a short series at the moment, so I’ll get through it quickly and hopefully like it enough to get The Toll.
