October Wrap Up

Hello everyone. I am here with my October wrap up. Even though this month was a horrible month, it was still a great reading month.

First book I finished was This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab.

I gave it 5/5 stars. I loved the writing style. It was very lyrical and really fit with the theme of the book. It kind of felt like the opposite of Vicious with one of our main characters trying to be more moral and human even though he is actually a monster.

Next I read Inferno by Julie Kagawa, the last book in the Talon Saga.

I gave it 5/5 stars. It was a great end to the series. Of course it was a bit predictable, but the journey was what I loved most. The series as a whole shared a lot of similarities to Twilight, so I’ll be doing a Talon vs Twilight blog sometime in the near future.

Then I finished Dry by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman.

I gave it 3/5 stars. I really enjoyed the start but started feeling really bored by the middle and had to push through to get to the end. I really liked the premise and the questions this book raised about humanity and what we would do if the world’s water ran out. I just didn’t like the execution all that much.

Then I read An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard.

5/5 stars! This book was amazing. The duels were so well written. And everything connected, even small details littered throughout the book meant something in the end. If you’re looking for a book Ike The Night Circus that features more of the magicians, read this book. I’m also looking for recommendations that are similar to this book. I’ve heard of The Crowns Game, and will be trying that next year, but if there’s anything else that features duelling magicians please let me know in the comments.

As of writing this, I am over halfway through Frostheart by Jamie Littler as part of Believathon. Enjoying it so far.

As you may have noticed, there is no TBR here as I am planning on doing Believathon in November, and you can find my TBR for that If you click here.

Thank you for reading . Byes 👋
